This past Saturday, skateboarders from near and far gathered on the rooftop of the New Design High School in Manhattan's Lower East Side for the 2nd coming of the Rooftop Rampage. The event was hosted by NY loc dogs Billy Rohan and Alex Corporan who, thanks to a bunch of solid event sponsors, came armed with a satchel filled with $3,000 cash. The format for the event was plain and simple. Roll away from something gnarly and get handed some cash. The contest was held "jam" style with kids hucking themselves onto and over four specific obstacles. It was rad to see a bunch of local, unsponsored kids killing it and coming up with handfuls of cash along the way. While bands played and free Red Bull were sipped, the mini ramp, wallride area, funbox, loopty loop and kicker-to-barrier were sessioned hard. Familiar NYC faces skated leisurely around the course amongst notable cameos from Julien Stranger, Andrew Allen, Tony Trujillo, Raymond Molinar, Danny Falla and Benny Fairfax. So much solid skating went down that it's hard to sum it all up. Basically Benny Fairfax ripped, Phil Ladjanski owns blunt kickflip fakies, Danny Falla was on point, Julien Stranger has more style than anyone in the world and Yaje Popson is the new kid to look out for. Big ups to Billy Rohan, Alex Corporan and all the days sponsors who made another high altitude session possible.

Jeff Pang & Giovanni Reda were there, psyched to be on the roof.

Danny Falla was killing it all day. Leisurely backside ollie into the barrier.

Rodney Torres & homie.

Rodney Torres tre flipping out of the loopty loop. Pardon the extra long shot.

A local kid slaps a crooked grind down the rail.
