How long have you bee skateboarding and how did you get into it?
Six years. My older brother and his friends influenced me in the beginning, but as soon as I got on the board I knew it is what I wanted to be doing. I quit everything I was doing because I was so hyped on everything about skateboarding.
Tell us about your hometown? What's your local scene like?
I live in a small town called Sebastopol with not much of a skate scene. There's not even a skate shop, but there is a sick skatepark. I grew up skating in a city called Santa Rosa though. Santa Rosa was a cool place to grow up skating. When I first started so many people skated, but it kind of died down. I mostly just skate with a few of my homies at the skatepark during the week and on the weekends we head to San Francisco to skate and film with all the homies down there.
Who are you favorite pros/ams? What pros inspire you? Why?
Mark Suciu for sure. Everything about his skateboarding is tight. His style is hella nice and he is an all terrain vehicle. He is a super raw street skater and I like that.
How did you find out about the CCS Am Project Video Contest?
My good friend, Jeff, has a cousin that won last year. (Matt Fisher) Then I saw an ad saying it was happening again this year.
Did you think you had a shot at winning win you entered or we're you clueless about the competition?
I just saw an ad when I was watching a video on The Berrics and I had all that footage already edited so I threw the logo on and sent it in. I had no intentions on being chosen as a finalist just thought I might as well send it in. I was so shocked when I woke up to an email from you guys.
What are you most looking forward to as a CCS Am Project rider?
Meeting all these other guys in the contest that ****ing kill it. It's also tight that my names gonna be put out there. I am just hyped for the experience I am going to get out of the CCS Am Project.
Describe the filming process for your entree. How long did it take to film? Did you do it just for CCS or had you been holding clips for an opportunity similar to this?
All the footage is between about May 2012 and May 2013. A few of the clips were from my homies project and I had all the other clips just layin around. I wasn't filming for anything over that time, just getting clips. Since all that I've been working on a full length part, but it got cut short because I just broke my ankle the day the voting ended for the am project.
What are your long term goals with skateboarding? Do you hope to have a career as a pro someday?
Whatever happens, happens. I just do it for the love of skateboarding, but I definitely am pursuing skateboarding more than anything else at this point. I can't stop, it's my life.
