How long have you bee skateboarding and how did you get into it?
I've been skating for 9 years. I got into it because of my brother and his friends. They would skate outside my house and one day my brother taught me everything he knew about it. I then quit playing ice hockey and started skating everyday.
Tell us about your hometown? What's your local scene like?
The town I live in is super small trapped between LAX airport, and the Chevron refinery. Everyone knows everyone in the community. Its like a big family kinda. The skate scene out here is great a lot of history and a lot of new young kids that are starting to skate. Its a cool town and has cool spots and a skatepark.
Who are you favorite pros/ams?
My top 5 favorite pros are Guy Mariano, Eric Koston, Marc Johnson, Erik Ellington & Andrew Reynolds because they're legends and have been killing it for the longest time and still kill it to this day and have made skateboarding what it is today. Also Louie Lopez he's killing it!
Favorite AMs Alec Majerus and James Martin.
What pros inspire you?
Austyn Gillette has been inspiring me lately. I like the interview he did called Fairly Normal. Very wise man.
How did you find out about the CCS Am Project Video Contest?
I found out about the Ccs Am Project Contest from my homies Nolan Reardon and Matt Lemond when they won it.
Did you think you had a shot at winning win you entered or we're you clueless about the competition?
I was kinda clueless going into it because they're so many good skateboarders out there in the world that no one knows about. Then they announced the 20 winners and everyones footage was so damn good! Then I kinda thought I didn't have a shot. But luckily I made it.
What do you like better, photo's or filming?
I kinda like filming and taking photos. Its a lot of fun and the filmier and photographer hype me up a lot and get me super pumped to skate.
Rifle off a few of your favorite spots to eat where you're from.
Vinny's Pizza, Brits BBQ, Fantastics Cafe, and Mandies Restaurant.
What is your dream spot?
Dream spot ledge right on the beach like the one in Barcelona.
What are you most looking forward to as a CCS Am Project rider?
Meeting new people, skating with new people and visiting places i've never been to.
Describe the filming process for your entree. How long did it take to film? Did you do it just for CCS or had you been holding clips for an opportunity similar to this?
I've been filming for this video part for almost 2 years for a independent skate film called Goosenectar being made by Andrew Freeman & Ryan Lee. The skaters in it are Mason Silva, Sean Imes, Jared Cleland, Jack McNulty, and Cooper Latimer all kids from the Southbay. The video is coming out soon. Very soon. So I used some of my clips that were in my part for the Ccs Am Project contest.
What are your long term goals with skateboarding? Do you hope to have a career as a pro someday?
In the long run give back to skateboarding, start something new, take photos, interview people and hopefully turn pro that be a dream come true.
What do you do when you aren't skating?
When i'm not skating I play ice hockey with my Dad and Brother or go to concerts or events with my friends. Sometimes hit the driving range late at night.
What do you feel your biggest accomplishment in skating has been so far?
My biggest accomplishment in skateboarding was winning this contest.
