Trash Talk | Odd Future's Hardcore Act Hits 'Em Hard
Aug 20, 2012 2:50 PM CDT
Forged from the same fires as seminal California hardcore punk acts like Black Flag and Circle Jerks, Sacramento, California’s Trash Talk brings a classic punk fury and aggression to their stage shows—rife with circle pits, windmills and otherwise true, hardcore-style moshing. Now aligned with the Odd Future label, Trash Talk has expanded their brand from the stage to collaboration T-shirts with Tyler and the Odd Future family.
For Odd Future, it couldn't be a more perfect fit. The incendiary lyrics and on-stage energy of Trash Talk frontmanLee Spielman match the irreverent and off-the-wall attitude of Tyler, The Creator and company like a glove. Although they represent two entirely different sounds musically, the deeply resonant message of spit-in-your-face non-conformity is consistent throughout—making Trash Talk and Odd Future conveniently snug musical foils.
With major global tours including appearances on the Thrasher stage during last year's South By Southwest, a spot on the stage during Thrasher's Texas Death Match and a ticket to ride on the Thrasher Skate Rock Tour, you can bet Trash Talk has skate-punk fame pending in the not so distant future. Stay tuned for more information from CCS on Trash Talk, but for now have a look at a few photos provided by OF photographer Sagan Lockhart as well as a few of their more popular YOUtube clips.
