You just went on a 20 Year Anniversary Tour with ZOO YORK to South America. Where all did you go?
We went to Buenos Aires and Rosario in Argentina and Santiago and Valparaiso Chile.
Who was on the trip?
Chaz (Ortiz), Dave (Willis), Travis (Glover), RB (Umali), (Sean) Cronan and Ben (Oleynik).
Who did you room with?
How did the trip go overall?
It was so fun. Everyone killed it. We skated some really good spots. The kids were so excited which is always rad. At the end, we drove to a resort on the beach and got to enjoy Chile for the day.
What all did you guys do on the trip?
Just a bunch of signings, demos and some street skating. It was good.
This was the first big international trip for Chaz, Dave and Travis. What was it like to travel with them?
Everyone was really excited. Going overseas is always a crazy and exciting trip. They’re all super cool guys to travel and skate with. They killed. They’re all real mellow, so easy traveling.
What was your favorite spot on the trip?
Valparaiso, Chile was my favorite. It reminded me of a way sketchier San Francisco. We were driving up and down really gnarly hills and skating a lot of hill spots. We were only there for a day, so we didn't get enough time, but I really liked it there.
What was your favorite trick that went down?
Travis front feebs on this long mellow rail. He was just front boarding a couple times, then out of nowhere just locked into a perfect front feeble. He has a really enjoyable style to watch. He locked in tweaked it out and rode away no problem.
Sick! Any other highlight from the trip? Does anything really stand out?
I think what stands out to me is the reaction of the kids in Argentina. We would get mobbed and do signings for hours with all the kids being so stoked. We went to skate this street plaza and got so mobbed you couldn't even skate it. Took like two hours to get out and the kids chased us for probably 30 blocks.
What’s the next trip you have planned?
I think I'm going out to San Francisco to try and finish up my Emerica part.
