put your back foot in the pocket of the tail with a little bit of heel hanging off and put your front foot behind the bottom right bolt if your goofy and if your regular put your right foot in the pocket of the tail with a little bit of heel hanging off the edge and your left foot a little bit behind the bottom left bolt.

THEN SCOOP AND FLICK AND (JUMP HIGH)   hopefully this helped if not go on youtube.com and look at some how to treflip

Make sure to scoop the hell out of it,

also if the board flies away from you try moving your foot further up the board

Once you get used to them you don't even have to scoop that hard. Put your foot like right on top of the left most or right most bolts (depending on if your goofy or regular) and flick. The board does the spin and flip perfectly. Leave your front foot out for the catch and land it. Mine are consistent doing those same exact things

Make sure you flick less, when doing a tre flip you want more scoop than flick thats alays good to keep in mind. also try and keep it under your feet  throwing it out to far will make it harder for you to land.

After having a hatred for normal 3 flips for at least 2 years, I began to love them after learing this one thing. The front foot's job of flicking is on everyone's mind when attempting 3 flips. When you flick, barely flick due to the fact that it makes the board depart from where you are! Concentrate on the scoop, and then you scoop direct your back foot just the opposite in the concave on the tail comparing to the nose! It'd actually be WAY easier if you learn fakie bigspin kickflips rather than 3 flips first thing. You should be able to land them in around a couple of days/weeks or so!
