I know this is going to spark something major.. but I'm gonna take my chance

THIS IS PURELY AN OPINION BASED THREAD, NO NEED TO GET PISSED OVER SOMETHING THIS SIMPLE

So for the past year I've been skating my Enjoi OG Green and my bro has been on his Sk8Mafia (Don't know the deck).

He snapped his doing to lazer flip over a 3 step and broke his board, so I gave him mine.

I wrote all that to say that I'm back to looking for a new board and I want to know your OPINION on a new board, Enjoi or Baker?

Plain and simple I just want your opinion on which I should go for. I'm open to either so its not that big of a deal.

Thanks

Thanks man. That was one issue that I had coming from my Girl to Enjoi, it has decent concave but there are better options out there.

Most skateboard decks are made in CHINA now which they called China Maple. But if you can find companies that still use Prime Wood (Torrance California) or CANADIAN Maple (Canada), they are much better. But skaters break skateboards so often now that price usually comes before company reputations, delaminations, warping, graphics, concave, or board pops.

The way I would pick a skateboard is to get one and put them under your feet. Don't just buy a skateboard deck buy graphics on a picture. You wouldn't want to buy a car without testing them out. It's also the same importants but not as expersive. This is your vehicle that you are going to use for your training. So without standing on the skateboard deck, you would not know which one is best for you.

To the question Enjoi Skateboard or Baker Skateboard? Remember that the size and how steep the tail is curved up is very important. For doing flip tricks, around 7.5" to 7.78" is perfect. For the tail concave, the flatter the tail, the easier to do manuals or fakie manuals, and doing tricks out of manual tricks are faster and easier because there is not that much room to snap your tail.

But for steeper or more convave tail, you can ollie higher because the distance between the tail is much taller to the ground than flatter tail. So the steeper tail will have more pop but requires you to have stronger leg muscle.

In my experience, Enjoi is more melow tail for doing technicle tricks like manuals and flip stuff in and out. Baker is steeper and good for doing stair and gap tricks. I could be wrong. It's been awhile since I rode those boards. I'm riding an Anti-Hero "Juliane Stranger" 7.6 with 51 mm wheels, bones reds bearing, 129 Independent Trucks with silver hanger and black base plate, Dark Horse grip tape.

Jessup and Dark Horse grip tape is been around for a long time. There are the standard shop grip tape that comes with a skateboard deck or sell for 5 dollars. Other "NAME" brand, Mob, Independent, Santa Cruz, Lucky, Girl, Monkey, Shorty, on and on are just extra cost for their logos. It's all preference.

Remember that this above example is base on a person who can skateboard good and can do basic tricks with some moderate leg power. So the whole point is that you need to go to the skateboard shop and stand on those skateboard decks and try them out. Sometimes if the skateboard decks feels the same, you can pick the graphics you like. Remember that you will be riding this board around and it represents of who you are as a skateboarder. You are promoting these companies. If someone likes your style, then seeing you ride Enjoi or Baker will affect the way others buy their boards.

I usually try to stick with the same skateboard company after right their boards. But a lot of times, I try to support some pros that I like for example. Traffic Skateboards - Ricky Oyola, Anti Hero - John Cardiel or Juliane Stranger, Almost - Daewon Song, Enjoi - Louie Barreta, Baker - Andrew Reynolds, Plan B - Danny Way... I can go on and on.

So don't get any brand skateboards. Make sure the skateboard fits good on your feet and try to support some of you favorite pros. Because other that Shoe sponsors, they make a living off of selling skateboard decks too. Good luck.
